di Angela Tommasino (V I – Turismo)
As part of the ErasmusPlus School Exchange Project “HEALTHY MIND- HEALTHY LIFE”, 24 Bulgarian students from a school in Kocherinovo came to Castellammare and were guests from 2nd to 10th October at the ITS “Luigi Sturzo”, led by the director Cinzia Toricco. The students were under the supervision of 4 Bulgarian teachers who carried out job shadowing activities during the English and Computer Science lessons with colleagues from our Institute both in the classroom and in the laboratory. Guests were greeted upon their arrival by some students of the 4H and 5H classes (Tourism Field), who offered them a tour of the school. Selected by their respective English teachers, 20 students from all the third grade classes at Sturzo participated in the workshops organized by the representatives of the Active Youth for Education association, run by Ferdinando Di Ruocco, who had already been actively involved in organizing the activities intended for Polish students during a previous twinning experience last spring, aimed at creating cohesion among European students and strengthening the students’ sense of belonging to Europe. The activities of this new project concerned the ecological transition, healthy eating habits and the correct lifestyle to adopt. A guided tour of Sorrento was also organised, during which two students of the 5 G class (Tourism Field ) acted as guides in English, the main language of the exchange. The contact person for European Planning in our Institute is Professor Anita Palatucci who could rely on the contribution and on the support of her colleagues from the Department of Foreign Languages
